By Road

From Belfast:

Take the A24 south from Belfast, through Carryduff onto Ballynahinch towards Newcastle. In the village of Clough turn right to Castlewellan. Castlewellan is 30 miles from Belfast.

From Dublin:
Take the M1 north from Dublin as far as Dundalk, from the end of the motorway continue on the road north to Newry. At Clohogue Roundabout (the big roundabout on the outskirts of Newry), take third exit for Newry centre. Go straight through Newry, following signs for Rathfriland or Hilltown. On leaving Newry follow directions for Hilltown. Travel through Hilltown to Kilcoo and then into Castlewellan. Castlewellan is 87 miles from Dublin, 18 miles from Newry.

From the West (Fermanagh / South Tyrone)
Travel on the M1 Motorway from Dungannon to Lisburn, exit at Lisburn, take last exit off roundabout onto Saintfield Road which takes you to Ballynahinch. Travel through Ballynahinch towards Newcastle. In the village of Clough turn right towards Castlewellan.
